Do I need an estate plan even if I don’t own much?

Absolutely. Estate planning isn’t just for the wealthy — it’s for anyone who wants to ensure their assets, wishes, and loved ones are protected.

Even a simple will or trust can provide clarity and peace of mind. It ensures that your wishes are honored, reduces stress for your family, and avoids unnecessary legal complications. Planning ahead means your estate will be handled according to your values, not left to chance.

What’s included in a basic estate plan?

There are various types of estate plans. Two of the most common estate plans are (1) wills, and (2) trusts. A will alone, is usually thought of as a basic plan. A trust is much more thorough and affords one the ability to create an estate plan that is more wholistic and specific, tailored to your unique needs and desires. Also, when drafting a trust for clients, they also have the ability to have additional estate plan documents created for them, which is complimentary if someone has a trust created by our office. The additional documents include as follows, a: Will, Power of Attorney, and Healthcare Directive. We also provide services that allow families to leave video messages for loved ones to view, after their passing, and much more.
